Tyranny is a social disease.
It “appears” in the form of a ruler wielding absolute control over a people who choose to remain powerless to do anything but submit to be ruled.
Its roots, however, are in the people themselves. People who choose to remain powerless. People who refuse to perform the great deeds of valor that in every age have toppled tyrants and restored the people’s liberties.
Small-minded people ignore this reality.
So the problem persists.
Tyranny raises its ugly head whenever people fail to exercise their authority to govern themselves under The Rule of Law. It begins when their childlike eagerness to be free of law entraps them.
Tyranny is rooted in the Rule of One.
But, it is always supported by a small number of weak individuals who hide under the deceitful wings of their leader to gain benefits for themselves, while the huddled masses suffer in ignorance and want.
Small-minded people choose to think tyrants rise through exercise of some irresistible force. To believe tyrants rule by irresistible force is ignorance of the first degree. It is the disease itself. Disease we can cure with courage and action.
Tyrants rule because people permit themselves to be ruled. Period!
Tyrants rule because people refuse to govern themselves. They fail to heed the wisdom of history. They refuse to do the work necessary to displace tyranny with life-honoring principles the people can believe in, willingly obey, and courageously defend.
Darkness has no power over light. There is no magic flashlight that can cast a cone of darkness.
But, darkness has a will of its own. It cannot resist entering when light is removed.
Light just one small candle, and darkness must flee.
We can be candles once again. We can drive darkness into hiding at the first glimpse of tyranny attempting to assert its hateful rule over us.
We can pass our light to others and, like candles, lose nothing in the exchange. Each candle lights another and remains illuminated.
Our shared brilliance will defeat all darkness.
Nothing else will.
Self-rule is a choice.
It starts with you.
Your single vote at the polls is not your only power to unseat tyrants.
You can learn the easy-to-understand rules of court procedure. You can master common-sense evidence tactics. You can make your voices heard at your local courthouse.
Tyranny there can be commanded to step down.
Corruption there can be overcome by truth.
Your power to topple tyranny and defeat corruption is in your courts where the voice of wisdom can speak and be heard!
Tyranny is a social disease.
It can be eradicated.
