“Good people” seek equality, opportunity, peace, protection, and a reasonable degree of prosperity. They want their governments to guarantee a level playing field, where none are given unfair advantages, political preferences, special tax breaks, or other benefits that favor only the self-interest of a privileged few.
When governments prevent us from enjoying these needs, we rebel. We thumb our noses at authority. We commit crimes to get “our fair share”. We burn. We bomb. We destroy the framework of laws that alone can secure for us the blessings of liberty.
I read old books nobody reads these days. Those old books tell me about “the blind force of the people” and the disaster that follows when the blind force of the people is not constrained by just laws that the people themselves believe in and willingly support.
We need governments to treat us equally … every one of us!
We need laws to promote peace, protection, and a reasonable degree of prosperity for every single one of us, no exceptions!
If we cannot get these essentials honestly, we kill and destroy to get them. It is the nature of mankind. Only fools can deny this.
The blind force of the people rears its destructive head every time governments and their faithless politicians fail to provide a level playing field for all of us!
The blind force of the people is like darkness that cannot resist entering every corner of our lives when light is withdrawn. Just like darkness, the blind force of the people cannot control itself. Remove light, and darkness enters. Remove hope, and chaos is the consequence, destroying peace, protection, and prosperity.
The blind force of the people must be managed with justice and mercy, guided by prudence and strength, inspired by wisdom and love, or the blind force will turn on itself as it has countless times in the past when the people’s rebellion destroyed nations once believed to be invincible.
We are threatened by the blind force of the people when corrupt government leaders impose unjust laws, squelching our shared quest for peace, protection, and prosperity, triggering unrest, urging rebellion.
We who wish the blessings of liberty for all must do battle with corruption in high places, until there is no more corruption and all people enjoy peace, protection, and a reasonable degree of prosperity.
That essential battle is in our courts, not at the polling booth! We have just rules there that secure for each of us an opportunity to be heard, to present evidence, and to obtain the benefit of court orders to restore justice when we are abused.
We can win the war against corruption in high places.
The battlefield for that war is in our courts.
